VPN Networking and Encryption
A VPN (Virtual Private Network) is not the same as cloud storage space. To connect to your VPN, you enter your password in a VPN application displayed in your Windows, Mac, Android, iOS, or Linux task bar. The application verifies your password and creates an encrypted tunnel between your computer and a data server.
You then have access to your data as if it was on your desktop, despite it being located on a secure server and possibly shared amongst employees or chosen third parties.
Security and access management are the principal advantages of a VPN. It allows employees and third parties access to centralized data while providing a very high level of security. Access can be revoked temporarily or permanently once it is no longer required.
